I have been an advocate of philanthropy in my own perspective I guess… giving donations to some charitable institution has become a part of me, ever since I was a kid, a principle that I got from my parents, who happen to be active in our community as public servants. I remember wrapping Christmas gifts every year for a district orphanage, dental and medical missions, and “send-a-child-to-school” program that has been in existence even before I was born. This summer break, I volunteered again for vehicle donations, where in people can donate car for a cause. This car donation program aims to help organizations, too, provided they meet the standards set by the committee. My dad, having the blood of an altruist, has just donated his old car, which he considered his baby for a long time, for charity. It was a second generation V20 Toyota Camry that debuted in 1986 and has been his car until he decided to give it away for a better cause. He said he won’t need it anymore anyway, aside from the fact that he can’t give it to me on the account that I am still a minor. As much as I hate the idea that I can’t have my own car right now, I still admire the decision that my dad made. It has got to be one of the noblest things that I have ever seen him done so far and it made me look up to my father in a whole new level. –>
